How E.ON CZ Built the Solar Tariff Their Competitors Can't Copy
Every energy supplier in Europe is looking at their solar tariff and asking the same question: how do we make it better than everyone else's?
E.ON Czech Republic asked the same question. And unlike most, they found a real answer — one that didn't require a massive infrastructure investment, a year-long build, or a restructuring of their trading operations.

The problem E.ON CZ was trying to solve
E.ON CZ had a growing base of residential customers with solar panels. These customers were engaged, energy-literate, and increasingly vocal about wanting more from their supplier. But every time E.ON tried to build a genuinely differentiated offer for them, the same constraint appeared: not enough margin to price meaningfully better than competitors.
On top of that, PV customers were behaving unpredictably. Their generation patterns were hard to forecast, their consumption was variable, and E.ON lacked real-time visibility into what was actually happening in their homes. They were relying on aggregated data to manage a portfolio that was becoming increasingly complex.
